New Jersey Social Workers CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
New Jersey Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.
The New Jersey State Board of Social Work Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is ASWB approved.
Continuing Education Requirement
The New Jersey State Board of Social Work Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is ASWB approved.
LCSW are required 40 hours every two years, 20 of which must be directly related to clinical practice. All hours may be completed by home study.*
LSW are required 30 hours every two years, all of which may completed by home study.*
CSW are required 20 hours every two years, all of which may completed by home study.*
All-Licensees must complete the following:
- Five (5) hours in ethics;
- Three (3) hours in social and cultural competence; and
- One (1) hour on topics concerning prescription opioid drugs, including the risks and signs of opioid abuse, addiction, and diversion.
* NetCE courses are considered home study.
