Minnesota Social Workers CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Minnesota Social Workers

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.

The Minnesota Board of Social Work accepts courses from any provider who is ASWB approved.

Continuing Education Requirement

The Minnesota Board of Social Work accepts NetCE courses.

LICSW, LISW, LGSW, and LSW are required 40 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed by independent study.*

All licensees are required a minimum of 2 of the 40 hours in ethics, and 4 hours in cultural responsiveness, every two years.

LICSW are required at least 12 of the 40 hours in clinical content every two years.

Licensing supervisors are required 6 hours in supervision content every two years.

* NetCE courses are considered independent study.
