Massachusetts Social Workers CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
Massachusetts Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.
The Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Workers accepts courses from any provider who is ASWB approved.
Continuing Education Requirement
The Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Work accepts NetCE courses.
LICSW are required 30 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.*
LCSW are required 20 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.*
LSW are required 15 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.*
LSWA are required 10 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.*
All Board of Registration of Social Workers licensees are required to participate in domestic violence and sexual violence training.**
NEW Beginning with license renewals on and after September 28, 2023, licensees are required two (2) hours on anti-racism, and one (1) hour on anti-discrimination, every 2 years.
* NetCE courses are considered home study.
