West Virginia Psychologists
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
The West Virginia Board of Examiners of Psychologists accepts courses from any provider who is approved by the American Psychological Association.
Continuing Education Requirement
Supervised Psychologists and Psychologists are required 20 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by self-study.* A minimum of 3 of the 20 hours must be in ethics, and 2 hours must be in mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans, every two years.
School Psychologists are required 30 hours every three years or a valid National Certification, all of which may be completed by self-study.* A minimum of 3 of the 30 hours must be in ethics every three years.
* NetCE courses are considered self-study.
