Maine Psychologists
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
The Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists accepts courses from any provider who is approved by the American Psychological Association.
Continuing Education Requirement
Psychologists are required 40 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by self-study.* A minimum of 3 of the 40 hours must be in ethics, every two years.
Beginning January 1, 2020, an applicant for initial licensure or license renewal is required 3 hours in family, spousal or partner abuse screening, referral and intervention strategies, one-time only.
*NetCE courses are considered self-study.
