New York Physicians
In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, and State Board for Medicine accepts courses from any provider who is ACCME-accredited and awards AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Continuing Education Requirement
Attention New York Healthcare Professionals: Every person who has previously undergone mandated child abuse training must complete an updated curriculum that includes adverse childhood experiences and trauma, implicit bias, and the identification of child abuse in a virtual setting. Training must be completed by April 1, 2025. Please access NetCE's approved updated training curriculum here.
MDs and DOs are required to complete course work or training in infection control at initial licensure and every four years thereafter. In addition, licensees must complete a one-time requirement of 2 hours in child abuse identification and reporting.
Licensees authorized to prescribe controlled substances are required to complete at least 3 hours in pain management, palliative care, and addiction by July 1, 2017, and every three years thereafter.
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required 8 hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including the appropriate clinical use of all FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of a substance use disorder, one-time only.
