Massachusetts Pharmacists / Pharmacy Technicians

In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. The Massachusetts Health and Human Services Board of Registration in Pharmacy accepts courses from any provider who is ACPE accredited.

Continuing Education Requirement

NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. If you select to opt out of entering this information, you agree to not hold NetCE responsible for reporting your credit.

Pharmacists are required 20 hours each year, 15 of which may be completed by home study.* A minimum of 2 hours must be in pharmacy law each year.

Pharmacists who immunize or oversee immunizing activities are required 1 hour related to immunizations every two years.

Pharmacists participating in a Collaborative Practice Agreement are required an additional 5 hours addressing areas of practice each year.

Pharmacists with prescriptive authority who engage in collaborative drug therapy management are required 1 hour related to pain management, risks of opioid addiction, counseling, identification of at-risk patients, or opioid antagonists every two years.

Pharmacists who practice or oversee sterile compounding are required 5 hours on the topic of sterile compounding each year.

Pharmacists who practice, oversee, or verify products of complex non-sterile compounding are required 3 hours on the topic of complex non-sterile compounding each year.

Pharmacy Technicians are not required continuing education at this time.

*NetCE courses are considered home study.
