Florida Pharmacists CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
Florida Pharmacists / Pharmacy Technicians
In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The Florida Board of Pharmacy accepts courses from any provider who is ACPE accredited.
NetCE is an approved provider of continuing education through CE Broker, Provider #50-2405. NetCE will electronically report successful course completions to CE Broker.
Continuing Education Requirement
NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. If you select to opt out of entering this information, you agree to not hold NetCE responsible for reporting your credit.
NetCE is an approved provider through CE Broker, Provider #50-2405.
NetCE will
electronically report successful course completions to CE Broker.

Pharmacists are required 30 hours every two years, 20 total (16 general) of which may be completed by home study.*
Requirements include:
- Two (2) hours on the validation and counseling of prescriptions for controlled substances and opioids, every two years.
- Two (2) hours in medication errors, every two years.
- One (1) hour in HIV/AIDS, one-time only.
- One (1) hour on human trafficking, one-time only. Course completion deadline January 1, 2021.
Pharmacists certified to administer vaccines or epinephrine auto-injection are required 3 hours on the safe and effective administration of vaccines and epinephrine auto-injection, every two years. Course must be from a statewide professional association of physicians accredited to provide educational activities designated as AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.**
Pharmacists seeking to administer long-acting antipsychotic medication by injection are required to complete an 8-hour course on the safe and effective administration of behavioral health and antipsychotic medications by injection, one-time only. Course must be from a statewide professional association of physicians accredited to provide educational activities designated as AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.**
Consultant Pharmacists are required an additional 24 hours in topics specified in Rule 64B16-26.302 FAC, every two years. A minimum of 3 hours are required on the topics of:
- Drug therapy - disease state;
- Administrative responsibilities;
- Consultant pharmacist facility responsibilities; or
- Compounding sterile or nonsterile human drugs (or both).
Nuclear Pharmacists are required an additional 24 hours in topics specified in Rule 64B16-26.304 FAC, every two years. Subject matter requirements:
- Applying radiopharmaceutical theory in practice or research setting; providing drug/radiopharmaceutical information in the clinical setting;
- Communicating effectively with patients, nuclear medicine physicians and technologists, radiation safety personnel, other nuclear pharmacists;
- Applying current radiation safety and quality assurance principles with an emphasis on recordkeeping and documentation;
- Nuclear pharmacy management;
- Advances in drug, radiopharmaceutical, or related technology.
Registered Pharmacy Technicians are required 20 hours every two years, 16 of which may be completed by home study.*
Requirements include:
- Two (2) related to the prevention of medication errors, every two years.
- One (1) hour in HIV/AIDS, one-time only.
- One (1) hour on human trafficking, one-time only. Course completion deadline January 1, 2021.
* NetCE courses are considered home study.
