Louisiana Pharmacists / Pharmacy Technicians
In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. If you select to opt out of entering this information, you agree to not hold NetCE responsible for reporting your credit. The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy accepts courses from any provider who is ACPE accredited.
Continuing Education Requirement

Pharmacists are required one of two options: 15 hours each year, 3 of which must be live presentation; or 20 hours each year if no live presentation, all of which may be completed by home study.*
Pharmacists authorized to administer medications and vaccinations are required 1 hour related to administering medications and vaccinations each year.
Pharmacists with prescriptive authority who hold a dangerous substance license are required 3 hours related to drug diversion training, best prescribing practices of controlled substances, appropriate treatment of addiction, and other matters regarding the prescribing of controlled dangerous substances each year.
Pharmacists who participate in medication compounding practices must complete at least 1 hour related to sterile drug preparation, dispensing, and utilization each year.
Qualified Nuclear Pharmacists are required an additional 5 hours on the applications and procedures specific to nuclear pharmacy each year.
Pharmacy Technicians are required 10 hours each year, all of which may be completed by home study.*
Pharmacy technicians who participate in medication compounding practices must complete at least 1 hour of continuing education related to sterile drug preparation, dispensing, and utilization each year.
*NetCE courses are considered home study.
