West Virginia Nurses
In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The West Virginia Board of Registered Nurses and West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.
NetCE is an approved provider of continuing education through CE Broker for RNs and APRNs, Provider #50-2405. NetCE will electronically report successful course completions to CE Broker.

RNs are required 12 contact hours every two years. RN licenses renew in 2024 with a new expiration date of 6/30/2026. The new licensing period will run from 7/1/2026-6/30/2028, and repeat every even year thereafter.
APRNs must maintain their RN license; and complete 24 contact hours every 2 years, 12 of which must be in advanced pharmacology/pharmacotherapeutics (8 of these may be used for renewal and reinstatement of Limited Prescriptive Authority), and 12 of which must be in clinical management of patients.
Licensees authorized to prescribe, dispense, and/or administer controlled substances are required 3 hours of drug diversion training one-time only, within first year of licensure.
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required 8 hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including the appropriate clinical use of all FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of a substance use disorder, one-time only.
LPNs are required 24 contact hours every two years, 3 of which must be in chemical dependence/substance abuse disorders and 2 must be related to mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans every renewal period. LPNs are also required 2 contact hours one-time only in end-of-life care with pain management, at initial renewal.
