The South Carolina State Board of Dentistry accepts courses from any provider who is ADA or AGD approved.
Continuing Education
NetCE is an approved provider through the South Carolina Board of Dentistry, CE Broker Provider #50-2405.
NetCE will electronically report successful course completions to CE Broker.
The South Carolina State Board of Dentistry accepts NetCE courses.
Dentists are required 28 hours every two years, 14 of which may be completed by home study.* A minimum of 2 of the 28 hours must be dedicated to sterilization and infection control. Licensees authorized to prescribe controlled substances must complete 2 hours related to approved procedures for prescribing and monitoring controlled substances. Holders of active sedation permits must complete 4 hours in pharmacology, anesthesia, emergency medicine, or sedation.
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required 8 hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including the appropriate clinical use of all FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of a substance use disorder; or the safe pharmacological management of dental pain and screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment of patients with (or at risk of developing) opioid and other substance use disorders, one-time only.
Dental Hygienists are required 14 hours every two years, 7 of which may be completed by home study.* A minimum 2 of the 14 hours must be dedicated to sterilization and infection control.
Dental Technicians are required 8 hours every two years, 4 of which may be completed by home study.*
*NetCE courses are considered home study.
